Agenda item 1: SSC Report
Spaniol-Budget share out-budget meeting went well. Comparing the budget from last year to this year is difficult. The X fund is discretionary based on attendance and size of school. <750 students $1030/student, >750 students $792/ student we have the large middle school model.
Croom-we will be funded for 28 teachers by the district
Jimez-25 T paid by district, 16-QEIA, 2-MSA and Title 1-5.6
Spaniol-Discussion about how much $ short are we…District not releasing QEIA funds
Ken-what’s our projection
Croom-822-if we get neighborhood kids then we may go up if bussing is cut.
Appel-Looks like just Magnet bussing is in jeopardy

Agenda item 3:SDEA report
Abts- Nurses and counselors are paid by district in the new contract-“
SGT works as an advisory to make recommendations for SSC.
Boudreau-it looks like the teachers will be covered by the district $, nursing and counseling will be covered under the contract, so how do we vote on the question of what do we want??
Spaniol-we need to look at the numbers closer.
Abts-What will the master schedule look like
Santos-we will have 500K less due to SIG going away, 3 master schedules were worked on over the weekend.
Spaniol-We need to look at as many ideas as possible-
Kober-eliminated jobs cannot be covered by other staff to fill the voids.
Abts-Excessing-if positions are eliminated due to declining enrollment or changes to the master schedule, then it reverts to district seniority not site seniority, though needs of the site need to be considered too. Any one that is being forced to excess should consult w the union.
Abts- Some teachers are wondering if GATE certification will be required to teach at Roosevelt
Santos-GATE certification is not a req.
Erlich-when would teachers find out if they were being excessed
Answer-March 15th or so
Abts-to Santos-various scenarios will be brought to the staff of what they year will look like next year
Santos-yes, once excesses are found out then the principal would meet with those concerned.
Spaniol-is the rumor about getting a pink for 10 years back??
General bantor and dismissal of rumor.
Abts-the unions position is the waiver we received last year was legit, though we will need to vote again to keep a schedule different from the 6th per day, and get a new waiver in by April.
General Discussion about budget and scheduling and staffing

Agenda item 4: Priorities
Santos- We will submit waiver for class size of 21 for QEIA. Will have then look at schedule scenarios for different class sizes
Unable to provide a priority list due to lack of information regarding budget $
Ken-we need to clarify what the positions are about before we can vote.

Croom-Motion to adjorn-
Approved.
